SEA06: A long delayed journey to South East Asia

Travel plans

For a long time I've been waiting for the oportunity to do a long(-ish) journey in Asia. There have been many influences leading to this decision (and those will be probably the subject of some rambling in a later post), and I have had to delay this journey many times for different reasons, but this time will be the winning one!! During this year's summer I'll spend a few weeks in continental South East Asia.

I'll try to include some thoughts about the process of organising this trip, about the concerned contries, about visa and vaccination requirements, advice, reading suggestions, and finally, during the journey I'll try to keep a photo-diary of the journey in this pages. I hope that some of all this rambling will be useful or amusing to other pleople that might be interested in doing something similar, or that some people who have already done it, would like to contribute with their advise or sharing their experiences.

Welcome to the Travel Flu

Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to this amateurish blog about travels and travelling. This site is dedicated to all those people who like travelling, but very specially to those, who love travelling, who need travelling to feel alife, may it be real dusty and adventurous travel, or virtual, literary, mental or spiritual travel. In brief, it is dedicated to those people who have been infected by the Travel Flu, also known as Travel Bug(1).

(1) unfortunatelly, "Travel Bug" was already taken as blog title ;-)

As all of you already know, once you have been infected by the travel bug, there's no cure...only a permanent hunger for new landscapes, alien thoughts, foreign accents, exotic cuisine...

But just before starting, I would like to share with you some very wise advice I once received...

"In your journeys, you should try always to be a traveller, never a tourist"
